Happy Easter to All

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter. It’s a beautiful Spring day here, the sun is shining, clear blue sky and its absolutely great to be outside. I just returned from a 5 mile walk with Molly and Lynne has been out to buy some annuals. She’s excited get her fingers back in the dirt.

Yesterday we were at Kaisa and Kevin’s house for an Easter egg hunt for the kids; the adults were treated to coffee and cake. Lynne made Hot Cross Buns for the occasion. Then last night we invited Lorraine and Randy for dinner since her sister Bev was visiting.

Another Spring Day.....

Today was the last day of Spring break for the kids; they’re really not looking forward to an early start tomorrow.

Lots more fun here today, the girls hosted a tea party for their various dolls and plastered their bedroom doors with their week’s coloring efforts.

It was Lynne’s turn to take Connor out for a bike ride, another 3mile. He loves it but we need it otherwise that energy is singularly focused on tormenting his sisters. He tried to be part of the tea party but he single handily upset the entire house. He’s incredible!

Busy Spring Day

We are welcoming some nice weather finally this weekend. I Spring-cleaned the garage, managed a 6-mile bike ride with Connor in addition to a walk with the dog. Lynne and the girls sowed the first seeds of Spring and the flower beds all cleaned up. Lynne also found time to do some cooking and baking, and we cooked ribs for the first time this year to share with guests for dinner….Isabel was very happy!

Oh, I almost forgot…..I think Ireland retained the Six Nations title……

Belated St Patrick's Day

I realize it’s late in the day, but better late than never. Happy St Patrick’s Day to all, I trust you all had a great day, some more festive than others I’m sure. It was a rather normal day here with us. Lynne is actually in Belgium at a conference (returns home tomorrow) and I was at work. The kids at least were off with Spring break.

Anne was kind enough to take some pictures of them this morning sporting their outfits for day. Not sure how long they lasted but they at fun I heard for a short while anyhow. The other pictures were from the canal downtown Indianapolis, like all large US cities with a water body, its gets colored for the occasion!

Dare I risk uttering the word......spring?

I arrived home from Germany yesterday evening. I'm a little spaced out but am very excited to be out for some exercise with the kids. They're excited too, let's see how they will fare after a few miles.

Germany

One of the small advantages of this trip to Germany is a sampling of spring. It seems like we have been waiting a while for this moment.  It's a beautiful 40° morning for my morning dawn jog along the Rhine.

More Snow!

Not much sign of Spring here in West Lafayette. We had another 9-10 inches of snow last night. We’ll likely take advantage with some sledding this afternoon but I’d much rather a stroll through the park on a warm Sunday afternoon.

Weekend in Manchester

I’m sitting at the airport reflecting on a fantastic weekend in Manchester. I was here to celebrate my brother Aiden and Orla’s engagement. There were so many great moments, made only because the entire family traveled to be there. In so many ways, the weekend had all the hallmarks of our reunions, classic moments we’ll not forget, from hugs and kisses to tears and everything in between.

Orla and Aiden, thank you both again for a great event on Saturday and welcoming us like you did. To the rest of you, well thanks for everything, I love you all, miss you already!

As a final update on this, shown below are some of the many photos that were taken.
