Anja the Ladybird has her first Halloween!

Hi

This evening Anja was dressed in her first Halloween costume, A Ladybird. (Many thanks to Tere for this costume). We got all dressed up for a party in our neighbourhood, but when we got there it was outside and it was raining quite heavily and we had no umbrella. Next year she will enjoy it much better, the sweets from "Trick or Treating" also no doubt!

Visit to the Japaneese Restaurant

Last night Mum and myself together with Ken and Maggie (our neighbours and friends and Ken is also Lynne's work colleague) went to our local Japaneese restaurant, Nakama. We had a great time, with some traditional food and drink.

Mum and Maggie both had the Japaneese BBQ and each had a lot of fun doing it. Ken decided that since he doesn't cook at home he certainly wasn't going to start while out eating !!

We also had to have some Sake, the Japaneese fermented rice drink!!

Green Tomato Chutney (Relish)

We did a little gardening Saturday, or rather closing down and pruning for the winter. Consequently, there were lots of green tomatoes so Lynne decided to do a Green Tomato Chutney (or relish if you live in the US). Shown below is a picture of it prior to several hours boil!

It's all bottled up now (canned) and should be ready for Christmas. yum yum!!!

Some Pictures from Tonight

Hi,

We all had turns holding Anja tonight while getting our pictures taken. Mum is throughly enjoying her time with Anja, in fact she was looking after her these last two days since Michelle our nanny is off.

She is now fully in to her food, a spinach, onion, tomato and carrot dish was followed by a coconut and apple desert!!

Today was my last day working at my current job at Tippecanoe Labs. It was a strange day leaving. I've really enjoyed my time there. Next week I will be able to report on my new job.

Tomorrow we are all off to a party at Doug and Daryla's house. It will be nice to get together with friends and relax on a Saturday evening.

More later..... Posted by Picasa

Picture of Paul and Anja at Six Months

Comparison at Six Months

Hi

The weekend has arrived and more time for blogging. I have a picture of me when I was six months old attached. Most people considered Anja to be very much like me when she was first born but are now seeing more of Lynne in her appearance. Unfortunately we do not have a picture of Lynne when she is six months old so a fare comparison will not be possible. In any case here are the photos!!

Two Parties this Weekend

Hi

We had two parties this weekend. The first on Friday night was a Dispersion party for all at Lilly whose jobs are moving to Indianapolis. We had a good time, meeting work people in a more relaxed athmosphere and catching up with people we have not seen for a while. I forgot the camera so there are no digital memories.

Yesterday, we all went to Anna's first birthday party. These are neighbours of ours. There were lots of children, most about 1 year old and many people we had not previously met. It was nice to meet some new faces. A few representative pics from the weekend are shown below.

I am off to Madison, Wisconsin tomorrow. Hopefully I will not hear to much about the Purdue defeat by the Badgers on Saturday.

Mum Arrived Safely from Ireland

Morning Everybody,

Yesterday evening Mum arrived from Ireland. After a long flight, 7 hours, and a total travlelling time of 17 hours, she arrived at 501 Hillcrest Rd. She was pretty tired but it did not stop her from having a beer, despite it being 05.00AM her time in Ireland!

She spent quite a lot of time playing with Anja this morning and Granny even gave her her breakfast. Everybody was happy. I'll post pictures later in the weekend!!

She ended up taking a bus from O'Hare airport which runs directly to Purdue University airport non-stop. We just learned of it. It is a great service. Chect it out.

Short Update from the Weekend!

Hi

Not much to report from this weekend. Took it easy most of the time. I brewed a batch of beer while Lynne cooked and pureed lots of fruits and vegtables for Anja. Yesterday was finished off by a visit to Lynne's boss's house, that of Steve and Sally Byrn. They threw a party of the most recent addition to the faculty in Lynne's department. Greg (no idea of last name) and his wife Susan (Susie I think) arrived in West Lafayette over the weekend are are currently house hunting.

Today Lynne left on a three day work trip, she will teach a course in Philadelphia. She felt pretty bad leaving us both (Anja really) but I assured her that she would be fine. Now I have to ensure that everything will be fine.

We can now start the countdown until Granny Owens arrives... My Mum will be arriving from Ireland Friday and everybody is very excited to see her, particularly Anja who has yet to see her other Granny!!

That's pretty much it for this weekend. More later...

Paul
