Weekend at Childrens Museum and Randy and Loraine's

Hi everybody,

Well after a Saturday of chores in which it was -12C outside, we managed to get out and about yesterday. We took a trip, together with Kevin, Kaisa and Anna, to The Children's Museum in Indy. It was excellent - for Anja in any case and of course by definition for us all!!

We spent a couple of hours watching toddlers and small children doing battle for the most interesting toys and favored play spots. I think we'll be back there. It would be a great place to catch up on all the latests colds.....Lots of kids everywhere...Everybody putting everything in their mouths and generally leaving lots of bodily fluid everywhere.

Last night we all spent a very enjoyable evening yet again with Randy and Lorraine....We cannot share the photos but for a fee I can provide them.......he he!!

Spent a day last week in sunny San Diego. Everybody I met with were continuously apologising for their 25C weather...Unusually cold for a Feb!!! It was freezing in Indy when I left!!

Finished two more books last week worth noting. The first, Blink, is very interesting and worth a read for those of you looking for something slightly different. The second, Freakonomics, was not as good but certainly quirky. They are both worth a read.

That's all for this week....Will report some more later. Of course you will notice the obligatory multitude of Anja photos below....She is showing off her new gnashers in a few!!

Weekly Update

Hi Everybody,

Winter has reached Indiana. It is finally cold enough to feel like we are having a winter. Raw cold wind with snow flying horizontally!!

Today Anja has taken the next steps towards perambulation!! She is now very capable of standing on her own (see picture below of her looking very proud of herself) and many are now predicting her walking by around 10 months and running by her first birthday. It's looking likely!!

HÃ¥kan had dinner with us twice this week. We had Indian take-out one night and it's kind of becoming a tradition that he join us for that. He is getting really good with Anja, is even now comfortable feeding her.

It was a tough week from a babysitting perspective. Michele was sick Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Lynne's work efforts had to slow down this week!!

They were the highlights this week. I'm off to California (San Diego) for work Thursday and Friday. It will feel like a short week!!

Catch you all later!!

A few Updates

Hi Everybody,

Here I will ramble a little and comment on the pictures below. Life in 2006 is chugging along, no major activities as of yet. The weeks are full of routine, mostly work but with eventful evening mealtimes and a constant guessing at what time everybody will get to bed. This I admit is mostly determined by Anja. The weekends are also pretty full of weekend routine. Shopping, relaxing, catching up on some reading, going for walks etc.

We are currently looking after Henry, the golden Lab shown below. He is Randy and Lorainne's dog who are in Northern Italy where I'm sure they are drinking good wine and eating great food. They deserve the break (although Randy is actually there working).

Anja has gained a few teeth (they now number four) but Mummy (aka Lynne) is loosing some. See picture below. Some of you may remember that she fell from her bike in Sweden and left half of her front tooth on our rather steep hill. Well today she lost the crown which will now need to be replaced (ouch!)

Just finished this book called The World is Flat, one of the better books that I've read in a while. I can recommend it.

The weather here in Indiana has been rather mild. We are getting through this winter relatively unscathed. Hope that I've not jinxed it now. Watch this space.........

That's all our news for now. Sorry it has been a while.
