Going on Holiday....

Tomorrow we are off to Michigan on holiday. There will be no blogs until we return on July 29th.

Keep safe everybody.

The ever inquisitive. She never stops wriggling and looking at everything...

This is Anja looking cute in a dress Granny Owens sent us.

This is more like reality. I prop her up on the sofa to take a nice photo and 9 out of 10 look like this...sliding downwards. Every once in a while she smiles AND stays upright

Its the weekend!

Hi Everybody,

Friday evening is here and it feels good, particularly since we are going on holidays...more on that later.

Took a few snaps of Anja this evening after dinner. She is doing great and now has a new favourite chair. She prefers it since she can see more. She's inquisitive like her daddy...

More blogs to come this weekend!! Enjoy!!

Brewing and Dog Washing

Hi

Today was a reasonably eventful day. First Lynne went off biking and so Daddy and Anja could get some quality time together (she fell asleep). I then brewed a beer. A Scottish ale supposed to be like Merlin's Ale which was a receipe from one of my favourite beer recipe book, Beer Captured. Then had to wash Daisey which went well. We finished the day off at a neighbor's house in their swimming pool. They had us stay for dinner which was great.

My other job for the day. Daisey had to be washed and not her favourite activity. Although she looks calm here, normally she is much more unhappy!

Dave was getting a bit carried away. I think he started praying to the beer Gods.....I gave him a beer instead.

We were brewing and looking after Anja at the same time since Lynne was out. This was Anja's first brew session.

Dave Myers, a friend from work, came over today to help me with the brewing.

Weekly Update

Hi Everybody,

Well yet another week has passed. 10 week old Anja is doing great. She weighed in at just over 13 lbs last week when she visited the doctor to get her immunisation shots. They are happy with her progress.

Lynne and myself are starting to resume normal life. Lynne is currently out on her 4th 25 mile bike ride this week. I also managed to get about 100m in this week.

This time next week we will be Michigan bound. We have hired a log cabin on a small lake, somewhere for us to chill out for a 10 days. We will miss the wedding of Malin and Wayne in Sweden, for this we are sorry but I believe they understand.

We will be busy pretty soon with visitors. In August, Auntie Eilish will arrive from Ireland, Lynne's Mum will be back in September, as will our friend Bryan from Sweden (with a friend) and in October Granny Owens will be over for a month. Uncle Davey and Auntie Sam are considering a Christmas trip. We are looking forward to everybody coming.

Shown below is the weekly shot of Anja together with a very sorry dog (I used to get all the attention not mere scraps!!)

Bye for now

Summer Pudding

Lynne was experimenting tonight and how nice it turned out. Fortunately for us it was not a work experiment but rather the kitchen variety. (Freezer needs defrosting so every evening this week food will be sourced from previous delights or other frozen ingredients).

Tonight some frozen fruit came in handy to make some "Summer Pudding". It was wonderful. This is actually a real English desert and if interested more details can be found at Delia's website.

Good Morning Everybody

Good morning all.

Shown above is the daily shot. Anja was in a good mood this morning, after she had her mid-morning nap and after she was fed. (I wish I appreciated those days a little better!).

Le Tour de France

The tour de France started again today so best of Luck to all. As you can see both Lynne and Anja are sporting their US Postal jerseys. Both Lynne and myself were able to get out for 25 miles today, it was a great day for biking, little wind and moderate temperature.

Anja is also sporting her cycling jersey which we got from Randy & Lorraine last Christmas almost 5 months before she was born. Back then it seemed like a long way away before we would see our child in it but here we are.
